Kenny Ching, from the United States of America, wins Microrrelatos 2008, a short story contest organized by EuskoSare
Kenny Ching has been announced the winner of this year´s Microrrelatos short story contest edition. The deadline to submit the stories ended on November 30 and the jury, formed by literary experts, gathered and decided to award the Microrrelatos 2009 winner prize to Kenny Ching´s “Eve in Donostia”.
In the story, an American describes his second encounter in Donostia-San Sebastian with Genevieve, a girl he had met before but with whom he never had the courage to be intimate. The story, written in English and not exceeding 300 words in length, as was established by the competition rules, won the prize worth 500 euros.
Microrrelatos 2008, a contest organized by EuskoSare, encourages Basque-theme writing around the world. The members of the jury said that this year's third edition saw around 100 “high quality” works that were submitted.
